 $145,900
127 West Street
Cripple Creek, CO

Step into this charming 1909 built log home and step back in time. Located in the once affluent neighborhood of Knob Hill in Cripple Creek, the backyard is fenced and has ample aspen trees and a storage shed. A rear addition and a carport were added within the last decade. The 102 year-old log timbers still serve as the exterior walls. A large trek wood deck fronts the cabin entrance. Inside, the interior has been updated and a family room added. Tongue and groove ceilings enhance natural wood supporting beams. Several skylights bring in plenty of light. A wood burning stove accents the large living room and compliments the forced air heating.  A small country kitchen is ringed by oak cabinetry. An historic claw-foot tub/shower is the main feature of the full bath just off the kitchen.  Upstairs is a loft office skirted by the master and a second bedroom.  The house is quaint and functional.
$149,900
357 Kutsu Ridge Road
Florissant, CO

If you are looking for that summer get-away cabin to decorate just the way you want it, here is your property.  All the basics are here; it just needs some more TLC (carpeting or tile, some trim work) to finish the interior and make it your dream place. A large great room includes a good-sized living area facing rows of sunny bright windows, a modern kitchen and a dining area.  Two bedrooms and a large laundry/storage area are in back. The 0.7 acres country lot is completely fenced in the rear. A detached two-car garage has a workshop. Priced for just the right buyer, which could be you!

$339,000
238 Shadow Lake Drive
Divide, CO
(off the market)

A cedar-sided raised ranch on 2.55-acres overlooking Pikes Peak. The glass front door invites you up the stairs to a well-appointed great room with tongue and grove ceilings and wood paneling. The large, walkout kitchen and dining area to the left has rustic pecan cabinetry. The master bedroom is just off the kitchen. See Pikes Peak through the sliding glass doors at the rear of the spacious living room. A 2nd bedroom, office and a full bath open to the great room. The 320 sq. foot shaded deck overlook the "man cave" and a great view of the Peak. Downstairs there's lots of room - plus a 3rd bedroom, laundry, bathroom, pantry and entry to the garage. A wood stove warms it all. Total living space is 2478 sq. feet. But that's not all.  Gaze at Pikes Peak from the shaded deck; shoot billiards and watch the game to a roaring fireplace in the 545 sq. foot recreational house (the "Man Cave"); BBQ on the large flagstone patio with a sunken iron grill; or pitch horseshoes in the regulation pit. The outside recreational opportunities make this property a complete home package!

127 Carlton Circle
Florissant, CO
$33,400

A dream lot ready for a 'dream home.' The gentle slope looks over westerly views of a beautiful Colorado Mountain Estates valley against a mountaintop background. A premium building site is already marked off (custom home plans are available, too). Soil and perc test, as well as a four corners survey and landscape fire mitigation, have been done. A well permit awaits.  Not for camping, but if you're looking for a beautiful place to build your dream home, just bring your imagination.

2847 North Mountain Estates Road
Florissant, CO
 $19,900

Two very desirable adjacent lots means you have two or more options for improvement. Totaling 1.18 acres, the corner parcels are heavily grown with mature pine, fir and aspen.  Several good building sites overlook a view of the Sangres and Pikes Peak. Although not for camping, a  driveway and selective tree cutting makes this property into a mountain dream home location. Close to Dome Rock!!

1001 S. Mountain Estates Road
Florissant, CO
$16,000

A 2-acre corner lot with a meadow, trees and a couple of ideal building sites. Easily accessed via county-maintained roads, the open air and sunshine will sell this place.  A short drive brings you to the Fossil Beds National Monument, Florissant and Cripple Creek. Not for camping or RV parking, but you can build your dream home here and enjoy the rustic surroundings of Colorado Mountain Estates.  It's mountain country!

2856 Blue Mesa Drive
Divide, CO
$16,000

Mature aspen, pine and fir slope down to the edge of Beaver Lake No. 2 which feeds the large lake just down the road in the center of the Highland Lakes subdivision. This parcel is not for camping or RV parking, and the topography of this 1.67-acre lot is challenging; but neighbors on either side attest to the ability to build a home here. With a driveway and selective tree cutting a dream home site will take shape.  This lot gets many inquiries.  It's time to buy it!

$15,000
317 Blue Spruce Road
Divide, CO

This property is about two miles from Highway 67.  Blue Spruce Road follows a ridge in beautiful Rainbow Valley, a subdivision just south of Midland in the western foothills of Pikes Peak. The property is located just before the road ends in a cul-de-sac.  Building sites are on the flat of the ridge, after which the lot slopes down severely towards Fourmile Road (CR 61). The Dome Rock area can be seen across the valley canyon. The lot is heavily treed and several rock formations can be seen from the property, as well as the western slope of Pikes Peak across the road.  This lot has character; it's private and secluded and there is plenty of wildlife.

An Easier Way to Search?

IT'S A FACT!  Eighty percent of all potential home buyers search for properties online before ever contacting a Realtor.

Sites like Realtor.com allow you to look over all over the nation with a high degree of anonymity. But, if you're tired of the time-consuming search routine and want to concentrate on homes or land in the Pikes Peak/Ute Pass region without a lot of hassle, there's a much better way.

SAVE TIME - AND IT'S FREE!  With a little information I will program a custom search for you, tailored specifically to hunt for properties in the Pikes Peak and central Colorado front range area - with the features that you are looking for.  And, it's absolutely "FREE!"

HOW IT WORKS.  Homes or land that match your desired features are sent to you via periodic emails directly from the local multiple listing service. The local MLS lists the most accurate and current information about each property, i.e., features, status and price. Each email links you to a personal webpage on the internet where you can review all the properties in detail, including photos.
GET STARTED.  All we need to get started is a description and price range of the kind of property you're seeking. Imagine being able to review applicable properties at your leisure in the comfort of your own home without having to search for hours online to find them.

One of them could be just what you're looking for!

Living in the Mountains

Living in the mountains is an amazing and wonderful experience! Shirt-sleeve summer days have mild temperatures, fresh air, lots of sun and occasional cleansing mountain rains! In winter, the scenery often changes to a wonderland of pine boughs decorated with snowy frosting.  And, of course, when the aspen leaves turn to a golden yellow in the fall, the place is absolutely beautiful. All year long, it's quite unbelievable sometimes. But, mountain living can also be an adventure, requiring some adjustment to the lifestyle you led in the city or at lower elevations. Besides growing accustomed to the altitude, the rural environment and over 300 days of sunshine each year, new mountain area residents will need to get used to a little snow between September and May and bone up on their winter driving skills. They'll also need to have a good working knowledge of such issues as:  dealing with the wildlife, proper garbage storage and disposal techniques (because of the wildlife), wells, septic systems, legal access issues, mining claims, local covenants, and local zoning and building codes. Once acclimated though, living in the mountains is a wonderful and rewarding experience.

Mountain Realtors know all about those issues.

Always consult with a "Mountain Realtor."

 (After word)

Turning 'maybe's' into 'now!'

Maybe, it’s a secluded get-away that you’re looking for – someplace to come to on vacation where you can throw a log on the fire and let the solitude dissolve away all your tensions.
Maybe you need a porch for sitting and a Pikes Peak view to capture your heart and your imagination.

Or perhaps you’re searching for a bit of land somewhere, nestled in the foothills near a meadow, or a handsomely treed lot where you hope to build that dream home or cabin.

On the other hand, maybe your dream isn’t in the mountains at all.

Maybe you like city living and just want to be close enough to the mountains for those weekend escapes.  You are thinking of a comfortable home along the Front Range, in Colorado Springs or one of the suburbs.

Whatever your reasons, whatever your dreams, and whatever your "maybe's" may be, the Martinek Team is ready to help you turn those “maybe’s” into reality.

Colorado is beautiful anytime of the year – a place to visit or a land where you can find and build your dreams.  For some, the travel books come alive once they see the mountains.  They go home and remember the experience forever.  Others decide to come back and live here.  That’s why I promote both the region and the real estate.

The images throughout this site and in the photo galleries illustrate the natural beauty and wonder of Colorado – a beckoning call to all who are searching for a great place to live.   Heed the call....

“Come for a visit... - - Stay for a lifetime!”
